Jasper Housing Authority is
accepting resumes for the position of Assistant Public Housing Manager. Under the general supervision of the Executive Director, the incumbent will be responsible in assisting the Housing Manager in the performance regarding the operation of the Public Housing Program. This position performs a variety of administrative duties to support the operations of the Program as applicable. The responsibilities include, but not limited to, assisting in the determination and certification of eligibility for applicants, interviews, intake, record keeping, collection of rents due, client data entry and compliance reporting.


Qualifications: High School diploma or GED required. At least three years equivalent experience working in a regulated industry such as federally assisted housing, Multifamily and/or property management where high volume, face to face interaction, is required. Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities may be considered sufficient.

Must hold valid Alabama Driver’s License and must be insurable under the Authority’s plan. This position requires a satisfactory completion of a background check and drug and alcohol testing. Excellent benefit package.

accepting resumes for the position of Maintenance Mechanic. Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for performance of the most complex maintenance functions to buildings, grounds, appliances, and equipment owned and operated by the Authority. This position performs a variety of skilled journeyman level maintenance tasks. Licensed trades are a plus.

Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum of
one (1) year experience in maintenance or vocational training focusing in maintenance
work such as building maintenance or construction, carpentry, plumbing and electrical repairs, heating and air conditioning. The successful applicant will be required to pass a background check, pre-employment drug screening and must hold valid driver’s license and be insurable under the Authority’s plan. Excellent benefits package.

The City Council shall consider and hold a public hearing on the adoption of said Ordinance amending the Zoning Ordinance on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, at 10:00 A.M., in the Council Chamber, on the second floor of Jasper City Hall, located at 400 19th Street West, Jasper, Alabama, 35501. At such time and place, all persons who desire shall have an opportunity to be heard in opposition to or in favor of such ordinance.

CITY OF JASPER, ALABAMA
TO AMEND THE CITY OF JASPER ZONING ORDINANCE
Be it hereby Ordained by the City Council of the City of Jasper, Alabama, as follows:
Section 1. That the Jasper Zoning Map as described in Article II, Sections 30-32, of the Jasper Zoning Ordinance, which was adopted by the City Council of the City of Jasper on or About January 2, 1990, and amended, inter alia, and further amended April 1, 2003, be and is hereby amended by the rezoning or redistricting of the parcel(s) of land hereinafter described so as to change such parcel(s) from one class or district to another class or district, to wit:
From MR (Municipal Reserve)
to B-4 (I-22 Business Corridor)
Section 2. Said parcel is
described as follows:
A parcel of land located in the SE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 26, Township 14 South, Range 7 West, Walker County, Alabama. Commence at the NW corner of the SE 1/4 of the SW 1/4, thence south along the west line of the SE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 500 feet +-, thence NE 875 feet +- to a point on the west right of way of Carl Cannon Boulevard and north line of the SE 1/4 of the SW 1/4, thence in a westerly direction along said north line a distance of 740 feet +- to the point of beginning.

Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective upon its passage and publication in the manner required by law.
