Roberts-Jackson

Emily Brooke Roberts and Travis Stuart Jackson were married in a double-ring, candlelight ceremony on May 16, 2009, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Homewood by the Rev. Timothy Tatum and the Rev. Bob Kurtz.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Michael Roberts of Jasper. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Billy W. Jackson of Cullman.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a strapless dotted organza gown by designer Melissa Sweet that featured a ruched wrap bodice and attached organza sash. The cathedral length veil was trimmed in satin. She carried a bouquet of white freesia, tuberose, roses, mini callas and stars of Bethlehem hand-tied with ivory organdy ribbon secured with a rhinestone pin.

Bridal attendants were Staci Roberts Powell, Randi Hall, Wendy Hardegree, Lauren Kraselsky, Catherine Bailey, Kelli Roberson, Deborah Swangwisk and Amy Wilkinson.

The father of the groom served as best man. Groomsmen were Brian Bostick, Brad Byrne, Max Chang, Drew Feeley, Tyler Hallman and Forrest Jackson.

Candlelighters were Brad Ramsey and Scott Williams. Flower girl was Olivia Zibas and ringbearer was Moss McGee.

A reception hosted by the bride’s parents was held at Riverchase Country Club in Birmingham. A rehearsal dinner given by the groom’s parents was held at The Club in Birmingham. After a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple resides in Huntsville.



Engagements


Holt-Sanford

Norman and Pamela Holt of Dora announce the engagement of their daughter, Kimberly Renea Holt, to Kyle Wayne Sanford, son of Wayne and Virginia Sanford of Dora.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Aaron and Charlotte Tucker of Empire, and the late E.H. and Shirley Holt of Sumiton. Kimberly is a graduate of Dora High School and is currently a senior at Faulkner University in Montgomery. She is majoring in Secondary Education with a degree in Biology.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Jane Sanford and the late Ferrell Sanford of Dora, and the late Charles and Dorthy Scissom of Dora. Kyle is a graduate of Dora High School and is employed with the Alabama Department of Transportation.

The wedding will take place at 6 p.m. Dec. 18, 2009, at Dora First Baptist Church. Formal invitations have been sent.
