A ribbon cutting was held at the new home of Capstone Rural Health in Parrish on Friday. The clinic operated out of a mobile facility for years before moving into the current space, which has two floors and 10,000 square feet. Capstone has operated in Parrish since 2001 and now has additional locations in Jasper and Nauvoo. A clinic is soon to open in Arley.

T.R. Simmons Elementary School kindergarten students visited Faye Whittemore Farms in Jasper Wednesday to pick out pumpkins, meet farm animals, play games and more. The farm, located at 1619 Forrester Rd., is open each Saturday in October from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Admission is $12, and children under 2 years old are admitted free. This is the farm's 24th year to host schools and families in Walker County. more
