Democratic Party sets up campaign office

The Walker County Democratic Party held an open house Thursday night for its General Election campaign office, set up at 52 N. Walston Bridge Road, Suite 104, behind Aldi's in Jasper. Volunteers will staff the office on nights and weekends, and campaign signs and material can be picked up at the office. The September and October monthly meetings of the party will also be held at the office at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 13 and Oct. 11. "We will be here phone banking and we have voter registration forms," Walker County Democratic Party Chairman Tim Bowen said. Attorney general candidate Joe Siegelman and gubernatorial candidate Walt Maddox are expected to visit in the future, he said.
