Visitation will be held Thursday, August 30, 2018, from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Bell Funeral Home in Sumiton. Funeral services will be Thursday, August 30, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. in the Bell Sumiton Chapel, with burial following at McCormack Cemetery. Bro. Harold Donald will officiate. Janice believed in the following things: faith, love, prayer, and Alabama Football. Every day she would have her list of people she would call daily to see how they were doing and to pray for them. She brought happiness and joy to people in doing little things; maybe a song she shared called “Happiness Is,” a hug, or simply a smile. She shared her love of God with people daily, and she was loved by many and will be missed by all. Preceding her in death were her father, Elijah Verdell Thompson; mother, Mary Inez Thompson; stepmother, Jewell Thompson; grandparents, William Franklin and Mary Holloway, and Andrew and Cara Thompson; and brother, David Thompson. Survivors include her husband, Paul Lively of Quinton; brother, Wayne Thompson of Boldo; special friend, Barbara Ann Cameron of Dora; and nieces and cousins and many friends. Pallbearers will be Tim Lively, Phillip Skinner, Ed House, Phillip B, Randy Stewart, and Terry Hamrick. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the following people: her caregiver, Tracy Skinner; Kindred Hospice; nurses, Candace, Amy, Carla and Sally for their kind words, inspiration and care of Janice; Bro. Harold Donald and Sis. Merrill Donald; and Cane Creek Baptist Church for the thoughts, prayers, and food during this time. more
