As announced earlier, on Saturday, Oct. 12, in the 205 area code area, you will have to start dialing the area code that you are calling, even for local calls. If I am across town and use someone else's phone, and and I want to call the Daily Mountain Eagle office, I will have to dial 205-221-2840, not 221-2840.  more
