Walker County Arts Alliance’s next Tasting of the Arts will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the WCAA office on 19th Street in Jasper. The featured artist is Bill Young III, an instructor at Walker High School.

Hors d'oeuvres will be provided by Kathy G & Company. A wine tasting will also be included in the event.

The cost is $20 for members and $40 for non-members.

Tasting of the Arts, a showcase of local artists, was established last year in celebration of WCAA’s 10th anniversary.

The lobby of the nonprofit’s downtown office is transformed into an art gallery for each event.

A package of tickets for Thursday’s show and the remaining three events in the series is $50 for members and $80 for non-members.

The package includes a membership to the Arts Alliance.

Pat Putman, WCAA’s new executive coordinator, said the Tasting series has been an important outreach tool.

“It helps with our membership drive, and it also helps fund our in-school programs throughout the year,” Putman said.
