Alan Eugene Yocum, 49, of Lubbock, Texas, formerly of Carbon Hill, went home to be with the Lord on March 20, 2013, at his residence. He was the baby of five children and it breaks our hearts that he went first. He was blessed with a caring heart and he never met a stranger. He was also an avid Alabama fan. He was born on March 26, 1963, in Carlsbad, N.M.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2013, from 2 until 5 p.m. at Wilson Brothers Funeral Home in Carbon Hill. Funeral services will be at 5 p.m. at the funeral home with Bro. Frankie Keene will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Smith Chapel Cemetery in Carbon Hill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Travis C. Yocum Sr. and Valora Abel Yocum; and niece, Laura Yocum

He is survived by his two daughters, Amanda Yocum Gilbert (Robert) and Mary Yocum; his siblings, Travis C. Yocum Jr., Debra Yocum Thomas (James), Sherry Yocum Painter (Clevis) and Gary Yocum (Cindy); and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
