Al was a lifelong resident of Conecuh County. He was born on June 29, 1957. He was a graduate of Lyeffion High School and served honorably in the U.S. Army.
Al was preceded in death by his parents, James Albert Ball and Willene Chastine Ball.
He is survived by his sister, Jackie Thornley Hines (James) of Selma; brother, Brent Thornley (Lisbeth) of Jasper; nephews, Chris Hines (Penelope) of Monroeville, Scott Thornley (Bess) of Jasper and Drew Thornley of Austin, Texas; nieces, Shelley Hines Hunt (Sam) of Birmingham and Caroline Thornley Sparrow (Jim) of Birmingham; great-nephews and nieces, Jim and Reid Hines, Olivia and Sam Hunt and Margaret Thornley.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Olive Branch Baptist Church Cemetery in Owassa, with Al’s brother-in-law, James Hines, officiating.
