Allie Banks Hudson, 96, of Jasper, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 25, 2014. She was born to Ora Sherer Banks and Malcolm D. Banks on Sept. 1, 1917, one of nine children. She married Lester C. Hudson.

Mama Allie, as she was affectionately known, was a lady of many talents. She was an outstanding seamstress excelling in dress making and most other forms of stitchery, especially quilt making. Her greatest achievement was her faith in Christ. She was active at New Prospect Baptist Church, being a member for over 65 years.

Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home and Saturday, March 1, 2014, from 10 until 11 a.m. at the New Prospect Baptist Church in Jasper.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 1, 2014, at 11 a.m. at New Prospect Baptist Church. Burial will be in the New Prospect Cemetery. Delmus Anthony and Howard Thompson will officiate

Hudson was preceded in death by her husband, Lester C. Hudson; parents, Ora Sherer Banks and Malcolm D. Banks; son-in-law, Winfred Williams; grandson, Kermit M. Hudson Jr.; sisters, Pauline Kilgore, Hazel Abel, Nell Barlow, Ruth Higgins and Frances Cain; and brothers, Chester Banks and Lynn Banks.

She is survived by her son, Kermit M. Hudson and his wife, Bonnie Powell Hudson; her daughter, Janice Williams; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Mary Preston; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to New Prospect Baptist Church, 770 Alabama Highway 5 North, Jasper, AL 35503.
