Visitations will be held Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the parlor at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home in Jasper, and Monday, Nov. 5, from 12 until 1 p.m. at Midway Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Midway Church of Christ with burial to follow in the Midway Church of Christ Cemetery. Mark Howell and Vance Hutton will officiate.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard Franklin Barker; two sons, Randal Creg Barker (Sandra Kaye Barker) and David Franklin Barker (Candy Darnell Barker), and one daughter, Lori Jean Barker Sanford (Norman Timothy Sanford); nine grandchildren, SGT Adam Silas Barker U.S. Army, (SFC Jessica Joanne Barker U.S. Army), Micah Erin Barker Williams (LT David Bryant Williams U.S. Navy), SSG Randall Seth Barker U.S. Army, Logan Dave Barker, Madison Sky Barker, Simon Drake Barker, Norman Ryan Sanford, Anna Katherine Sanford Guthrie (Landon Chase Guthrie), Lori Elizabeth Sanford; one step-grandchild, Nathaniel Peyton Earle; one great-grandchild due on March 13, 2012, named Caroline Gray (Cara Gray) Williams; and one brother, Robert Frank Ford Jr.
Jean met Frank at Fort Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina during the Korean War and they were married for 61 years. They have resided in Alabama since 1953. She was a lifelong homemaker, elder’s wife, preacher’s wife, and Sunday school teacher. The family would like to thank all those responsible for the wonderful healthcare Jean received at Princeton Hospital on the 3rd and 5th floor. Also the wonderful love and care given at Ridgeview Health Care by all the wonderful nurses. Thanks to Jeff Chambless and Steve Tubbs of Comfort Care Hospice.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Frank Ford Sr. and Virginia Dana Clarkson Ford.
