There is no pain greater, more far reaching and deeper than losing you. Even though you were only with us for two short months and then suddenly left to continue on with your journey, to become a guardian angel, you filled all of our lives with so much joy and happiness, so many dreams of tomorrow, some-days and what ifs. Memories of your smell, (which was like sunshine), your touch (always warm), your perfect little huggable, kissable body, (our num nums). You left your footprint in the hearts and minds of all, yes, we know your Spirit is with the Creator as well as with us, we will forever cherish and love our time spent together, our sweet Athena.
Athena, you are a Saint and a hero, several of your organs were donated through Life Share at St. Francis to save other babies and their parents from sorrow. We are proud of you, and you will live on. While parting with you is hard, we know that you are close to God in your spotless innocence, which He loves, you can speak to Him with a voice that He will surely heed.
Athena is survived by her parents, E’dicia Reed and Robert L. Ammons III; her brother, Ramsey Hoffman of Tulsa, Okla.; grandparents, Mike and Diane Hearron of Tulsa, Julian and Janna Reed of Rossevelt, Utah, Rick and Lesley Nunley of Bossier City, La., and Robert L. Ammons Jr. of Sumiton; great-grandparents, Robert L. Ammons Sr. and Margie of West Jefferson, and Kathleen (Ammons) Bochenski, formerly of Trenton, N.J., now a resident of Jasper.
