Betty Carol Guthrie Chambless, 64, of Arley, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Princeton Baptist Medical Center. She was born on March 10, 1949.

The family will receive friends today, April 6, 2013, from 2 until 4 p.m. at Arley First Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Betty was a loving and giving person with a heart for her Lord, her church, her family and a very special place in her heart for children. She taught a children's class and worked in Children's Church for over 25 years. She helped in many other areas of her church-wherever there was a need.

Betty retired from the Department of Human Resources and helped her husband, Lamar, operate Lamar's Glass for 19 years.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Athelene Hamrick Guthrie and Thurman Guthrie; brother, Roger Guthrie; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sam and Jessel Chambless; and sister-in-law, Doris Chambless.

She is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Lamar Chambless; sister-in-law, Beth Guthrie; brother-in-law, James Chambless; nieces, Carol Lakeman, Jane Drake (T.J.) and Suzanne Chambless; nephew, Patrick Chambless (Erin); great nieces, Christine, Clare and Sally Lakeman, Katey Beth Chambless; great nephew, Nick Chambless; and many special aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be: Ronald Webb, Rex Key, Larry Kennedy, Glenn Kennedy, Dustin Kennedy and Derek Kennedy.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Lamar's Glass Employess.
