He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Jasper and owner/manager of Jasper’s 7-Up/RC Bottling Company, where before his retirement in 1999, he received national recognition from the Seven-Up Company for his 50-plus years of dedication and quality as a Seven-Up bottler. Smith Lake and Florida’s Gulf Coast were the places he loved for his favorite pastime, fishing.
A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2011.
Visitation will be held today, March 15, 2011, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Faught; parents, Robert and Elizabeth Faught; sister, Agnes Gardner and brother, Bill Faught.
He is survived by his daughter, Laura Faught of Barneveld, N.Y.; sisters, Bea Cox of Elko, Nev., Lexie Posey of Dothan, Faye Copeland (Tom) of Ocean Springs, Miss. and Gaye Myers (Sam) of Atlanta, Ga.; brothers, Harold Faught (Helen) of Brimingham and Gerald Faught (Sue) of Jasper; a number of nieces and nephews and his caregiver, Berta Thomas.
The family requests donations be made to Jasper’s Hope Clinic, Humane Society or a charity of their choice.
