Christopher Kale Daugherty, 24, of Sumiton, passed away on Friday Aug. 17, 2012, at his residence. Chris was a 2005 graduate of Dora High School. Chris was a longtime volunteer fireman with the City of Dora and was employed for the past five years with the City of Sumiton police department as a dispatcher and officer.

Graveside services and interment will be held on Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Shanghi Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Barry Daugherty; and his grandmother, Louise Daugherty.

Survivors include his daughter, Chesney Aldridge; stepdaughter, Gracie Slate; mother, Donna Daugherty; sister, Heather Howard and her husband, Noah; fiance’, Kristal Meade; grandparents, William Daugherty and Patsy and Jimmy Hicks; and several other family members and many friends.
