This year, the organizers are bringing in 500 pounds of Louisiana Crawfish and 450 pounds of shrimp from Panama City.
T-shirts are available and an auction will be held at the event, a short-sleeved shirt is $15 and a long-sleeved shirt is $25. The auction will include items such as a jukebox, a turkey hunting trip and a fishing trip, among other items for bid.
All proceeds are given to a Walker County woman who is battling cancer. This year, the proceeds will benefit two local women, according to Cafe Bill’s owner, Bill Frey.
Each year, local business owners and city leaders join the Cafe Bill’s waitstaff as “Celebrity Servers” for the cause. This year those servers will be Anthony “AA” Aller of Henry Oil Company, Inc., Dustin Beaty of Hospital Discount Pharmacy, Eddie Jackson of Jackson Fikes Hood and Brakefield Law Firm, Jeremiah Alexander of Farmstead Veterinary Medical Center, David Kilgore of Kilgore Realty, Kevin Callahan of Honda of Jasper, Abe Cannon of Carl Cannon Chevy and Dr. Dan Scarborough.
The volunteer bartenders are Lisa Killingsworth of First Bank of Jasper and Cherry Scarborough. The cooks will be Greg Marks, Dennis Bush, Mike Abner, Scott Crump and Frey. Music will be provided by The Beaver Brothers.
Take out orders can be placed ahead of time by calling Cafe Bill’s at 387-9500. Boxes of shrimp or crawfish are $12 and include potatoes, corn and sauces. A larger portion is available on a tray for $20.
Birmingham Budweiser will also be on hand and $1 from each beer sold will be donated to the cause.
