Marie was born on January 17, 1931 in Dora, Ala., to Jody and Adeline Green. She was a sibling to two sisters, Louise and Ruth and six brothers, Marvin, Clifford, Adriane, Tommy, Bobby and Gary.
Even as a child, she possessed a contagious smile and an entertaining sense of humor. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and faith. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter, and joking around, will never be forgotten.
Marie was a single parent, raising her three dear children, Debra, Nathan and Connie over the years in Sumiton, Ala. Possessing a true servant’s heart, Marie faithfully cared for family and friends through delicious cooking/baking from scratch, sewing and crafting. With a real zest for life, Green loved to chat with friends and family, and travel, and especially play with her grandchildren.
Her surviving family members are numerous, but mainly include:
Mother of three children and partners: Debra and Mike Stanford, Nathan and Brenda Yarbrough, and Connie Busby.
Grandmother to 11: Dwayne and Stephanie Richards, Cassandra and Ricky Hall, Casey Drummond, Amanda Blackmon, Vennessa Smith, Vincent Yarbrough, Joanie Yarbrough, Beth Ann Peterson, Jennifer and Dominic Baldone, Nicholas Busby, and Christie Busby.
Immediate family: sister, Ruth Rinier; and brothers, Clifford Green, Bobby Joe Green, Gary and Diane Green, and Adriane Green.
Other family members: unfortunately too many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren to list or even count.
