Dewey “Dank” Higginbotham, 87, of Quinton died on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at his residence. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at Bell Sumiton Chapel with burial in Shanghi Cemetery. The Rev. James Aycox will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Patricia Higginbotham; grandson, Jonathon Russell; and special friend, Bernice Reddell.

Survivors include his children, Tammy Russell of Quinton and David Higginbotham and his wife, Karen, of Quinton; grandchildren, Joshua Russell of Quinton, Amber Jackson of Quinton, Holly Smithers of Adger, Kevin Conner and his wife, Deanna, of Odenville, and Jason Conner of Dora; great grandchildren, Madison Jackson of Quinton, Shelby Jackson of Quinton, Kailey Conner of West Jefferson, Jake Conner of Odenville, and Cheyenne Conner of Odenville; and a host of other relatives and friends.
