Dora's football season came to an end in the state semifinals on Friday with UMS-Wright knocking off the Bulldogs 35-21.

UMS-Wright advances to the Class 4A state championship game set for next Friday at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn.

On Friday, Dora was done in by key mistakes and defensive lapses. UMS-Wright built a 28-6 halftime lead.

Dora cut the gap to 28-14 early in the third quarter, but would get no closer the rest of the way.

UMS-Wright's victory snapped Dora's eight-game winning streak.

The Bulldogs close the season at 12-2 in Johnny Wright's first year back as head coach.
