Dorothy Sims Martin, 89, a resident of Foley, passed away Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013.

She was a member of the Eastern Stars and the First Baptist Church of Jasper, and owner of Parkland Drugs and Dot’s Country Kitchen.

Preceded in death by her husband, Reynolds J. Martin; sisters, Sara Free and Charlene Inman.

She is survived by her sons, Jimmy Cunningham of Orange Beach and Mike Cunningham of Foley; sister, Kathryn Sherer of Orlando, Fla.; granddaughters, Kelly Rieck of Parksburg, Pa., Kim Cunningham of Orange Beach, Kaci Thomas of San Antonio, Texas, and Sunny Smith of Troy; grandson, Matt Cunningham of Augusta, Ga.; six great-grandchildren; and special friend and caretaker, Bobbie Douglas.

The family will receive friends from the Chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Foley on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at 9 a.m. until time of service.

Graveside service will be Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Walker Memory Gardens in Jasper.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
