Eleanor Pauline Otilia Wallin Peters, 93, of Tuscaloosa, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at Hospice of West Alabama. She was born on Aug. 22, 1919. She earned her R.N. degree from Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach, Fla., in May 1940. She married Darwin Peters on April 5, 1941, in West Palm Beach, Fla. She traveled with her military (Army) husband to many countries. She served as treasurer of her church in Augusta, Ga., for 20 years, then moved to Tuscaloosa in 2001. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa and Koininia Sunday School class.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today, Sept. 26, 2012, at Walker Memory Gardens. The Rev. Vial Fontenot will officiate. Special music will be provided by Mark Huett, her nephew.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Darwin Peters; sisters, Esther Fowler; grandson, David Mark Hodgson; and parents, Dan Wallin and Elvina Jensen Wallin.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Peters Hodgson of Tuscaloosa; son-in-law, George Hodgson; grandchildren, Peter Hodgson of Northport, Debbie Mayhew and husband, Rick, of Silver Springs, Md., Tabitha Cromer and husband, Andy, of San Marcos, Calif., and Elena Hodgson of Northport; and great-grandchildren, David Hodgson, Nathan Hodgson and Olivia Cromer.
