Wood - Duke

Cris Wood of Parrish and Crystal Hill of Curry are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Jill Wood of Curry, to Phil Duke of Northport, the son of Melissa Curlee and Phillip Duke, both of Northport.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of JoAnn Jodoin and Phil Jodoin of Florence, the late Charles Hendon of Townley, JoAnn Hill and the late Earl Hill of West Jefferson, and Connard Wood of Scottsboro.

She is a graduate of Victory Christian Academy and Pensacola Christian College. She is currently employed with Amedisys Hospice.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Gaye and Bobby Curlee of Talledega, and Leslie and Ann Duke of Calera.

He is a graduate of Tuscaloosa County High School and the University of Alabama. He is currently employed with National Guard and the owner of Warrior Fitness Boot Camp.

The wedding will take place at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2012, at Lake Lurleen State Park.

Privett - Cagle

Donna Privett of Holly Pond and Danny and Vinita Privett of Blountsville are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Meagan Renea Privett of Holly Pond, to Nicholas Grant Cagle of Kimberly, the son of Darrell and Teresa Works of Carbon Hill, and Greg and Marchelle Cagle of Warrior.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mary Privett and the late Eunice Privett of Blountsville, Ruby Mayo of Joppa and James Mayo of Red Boiling Springs, Tenn.

She is a 2007 graduate of J B Pennigton High School and a 2010 nursing graduate of Wallace State Community College. She is currently employed as a registered nurse at Cullman Regional Medical Center.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Eugene and Jimmie Sadberry of Goodsprings, and Coy and Elizabeth Cagle of Jasper.

He is a 2004 graduate of Mortimer Jordan High School, and studied nursing at Bevill State Community College and Wallace State Community College. He is currently employed with Louisana-Pacific Corporation in Hanceville.

The wedding will take place at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at St. Andrews Methodist Church in Cullman.

Mr. and Mrs. Michael Allen Bennett of Bethlehem, Ga., are pleased to announce the upcoming marriage of their daughter, Meredith Lyn Bennett of Brandon, Miss., to Christopher Lee Rea of Indialantic, Fla., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Audie Gean Rea of Jackson, Miss.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Bryant of Snellville, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. Boyce Davis of Covington, Ga., Mrs. Allen Bennett of Snellville, Ga. and the late Mr. Bennett.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Mrs. Eugene W. Atkinson of Jackson, Miss., and Ms and the late Mr. Atkinson, and Mr. and Mrs. Bobby G. Rea of Nauvoo.

The bride-elect is a graduate of the University of Georgia and is currently employed as youth minister with Pinelake Church in Branden, Miss.

The prospective groom is a graduate of the University of Mississippi and is an insurance broker with Amwins Brokerage in Satellite Beach, Fla.

The couple will be married in a small family ceremony in Vero Beach, Fla. on Aug. 25, 2012.

The couple will honeymoon in Europe.

Mr. and Mrs. Art Oravet of Hoover are pleased to announce the upcoming marriage of their daughter, Alicia Marie Oravet of McCalla, to Jacob Lee Smith of McCalla, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Smith of Hueytown.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Cornutt and Dr. and Mrs. Kalman Oravet Sr., all of Gadsden.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Mrs. Glenda Albright of Gardendale and the late Ronald Albright.

The bride-elect is a 2005 graduate of Walker High School and a 2010 graduate of Auburn University. She will graduate with her Master of Arts in Education from UAB in December.

The prospective groom is a 2004 graduate of Hueytown High School and is employed with Alabama Power Company.

The couple will be married at First United Methodist Church in Jasper on Saturday, Sept. 29,2012.
