“It’s for the community. We’ve worked really hard for the past three months to make sure that it turns out to be a huge event,” said firefighter Amanda Hodge.
Fill the Boot will kick off Saturday at 8 a.m. The day will include live music, food, games and door prize giveaways. All proceeds will benefit the fire department. Specifically, the money raised will help pay for the department’s newest fire truck.

The design pays tribute to the camaraderie of volunteer firefighters as well as the four individuals who died on April 27, 2011, in Cordova.

Four musical acts are scheduled to appear: Elvis impersonator Robert Glass, Kim Dunn, Bedlam and The Hudson Band.
Several inflatable water slides will be set up in a children’s area. Swimming attire is required. All-day armbands will be sold for $5.
