Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today, Sept. 26, 2012, at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Walker Memory Gardens. The Rev. Fred Lackey will officiate.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Anita Chandler; parents, Jessie Floyd Chandler and Hester Downs Chandler; stepmother, Allie Mae Chandler; brother, Vermon Chandler; sister, Glo Lee McCollum; and cousins, Paul Chandler and Jerry Chandler.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Burlie Chandler of Nauvoo; three daughters, Marlene Chandler of Jasper, Hester Chandler of Nauvoo and Vernell Pierce of Mississippi; two sons, Maurice Chandler (Marcia) of Opelika and John Chandler of Adamsville; cousin, Bill Chandler (Lisa) of Texas; brother, Wilburn Gann (Doris) of Hamilton; grandchildren, Tanya Kennedy, William Douglas Kennedy Jr., Terry Hamm, Anita Tarrats, Samantha Rupert, Tammy Thompson, Shane Chandler, Amanda Chandler and Courtney Chandler; and great-grandchildren, Karla Kennedy, Jeanna Hardin, Dakota Hamm, Nicholas Tarrats, Damon Tarrats and Kaleigh Thompson.
