Gene Leo Dickerson, 70, of Jasper, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, May 4, 2012, at Walker Baptist Medical Center. Funeral services will be Monday, May 7, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Collins-Burke Chapel with burial at Mt. Zion Cemetery on Fall City Road. Visitation will be today, May 6, 2012, 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home. J.D. Dickerson and J.L. Bailey will officiate. Collins-Burke will direct.

Gene was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and he will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lish Dickerson; mother, Lillie White Dickerson; brother, Monroe Dickerson; and infant sister, Ruth Ellen Dickerson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Ruth Reese Dickerson; son, Johnny (Sandy) Dickerson; daughters, Regina (John “Bo”) Trussell and Angie (David) Hartley; sister, Edith (Jessie) Bailey; brother, Roy (Teresa) Dickerson; grandchildren, Amy (Josh) Bridgmon, Sarah (Brad) Akins, Emily (Patrick) Gregory, Johanna Dickeron, Erin Hartley, Logan Hartley and Kaitlyn Trussell; great-grandchildren, Cameron Bridgmon, Sawyer Bridgmon, Lillie Akins, Ella Akins and Macie Gregory; and special nephew, J.D. Dickerson.

Pallbearers will be John “Bo” Trussell, Josh Bridgmon, David Hartley, Brad Akins, Patrick Gregory and Andrew Dickerson.
