The Jackets got the ball to start things off, but on the second play of the game, Seth Blanton's pass was tipped and intercepted by Brontae Harris at the Bulldog 37 yard line.
After working the ball down field, Torey Green ran in from the 22 yard line to put Hanceville on the board. After an exchange of possessions, the Yellow Jackets would take over on their own 25 yard line. Blanton's pass to Dylan Earnest was good, but the ball was fumbled and returned to the Yellow Jacket 31-yard line by Hanceville to end the first quarter.
The second quarter belonged to the Bulldogs, as they put up 21 more unanswered points against the Jackets. A little razzle-dazzle started it off as Caleb Hurst completed a lateral pass to Harris who then passed 15 yards to Donte Reese for the touchdown.
After another Blanton interception, Sheldon Lewis busted open a 33-yard touchdown run, but the extra point snap was fumbled. Blanton threw another interception on the next drive, and the Bulldogs were again able to capitalize as Lewis punched it in from the 4-yard line. Hurst hit Heath Dean on the 2 point conversion, making the halftime score 28-0.
The Bulldogs picked up quickly where they left off, with Torey Green scoring quickly from 5 yards out. On the ensuing drive, Winston County got things going, driving down the field to the Hanceville 1 yard line.
Clay Brooks punched it in to get the Jackets on the board, 35-7. Hanceville's Green immediately answered with a 44-yard run to the Jackets 20 yard line. Carlos Chacon capped off the drive with a 10-yard touchdown run, making the score 42-7.
On the very next play, Blanton's pass was intercepted by Lewis at the Bulldog 45 yard line and returned for a touchdown. The missed extra point left the score at 48-7.
The next Winston County drive was another turnover, as Blanton fumbled the ball after a sack deep in his own territory. One play later, Chacon ran the ball in 18 yards for a touchdown, making it 55-7 to end the 3rd. With 3:05 left in the game, on 2nd and 23, Edward Lamp busted open a 63-yard touchdown run, cutting the lead down to 55-14. The Bulldogs wouldn't leave it at that however. Eli Baker had an 81-yard touchdown run. The missed extra-point made the final score 61-14.
Seth Blanton finished the night 9 of 20 for 105 yards and four interceptions. Clay Brooks had 53 yards rushing and a touchdown. Edward Lamp ran for 75 yards and a touchdown.
Hanceville collectively completed 5 of 6 passes for 114 yards and a touchdown. The Bulldogs gained 320 yards and 6 touchdowns on the ground.
Winston County (5-2, 5-1) hosts Hamilton next week.
Hanceville (4-3, 3-2) hosts Danville.
