Cantrell, the son of the late Joseph Elzie and Orbleen Morton Cantrell, was born on Dec. 9, 1942, in Jasper. He was a retired truck driver and a veteran of the Georgia Army National Guard.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Brenda Cantrell of Forsyth; son, Steven (Angie) Cantrell of Culloden; three grandchildren, Autumn, Amber and Ashley Cantrell; brothers, Leon (Peggy) Cantrell of Orrville and Gordon Cantrell of Jasper; sister, Barbara (Ronald) Walker of Jasper; brother-in-law, Ronald (Kathy) Henslee of Tuscaloosa; special nephew, Ron (Roseann) Henslee Jr.; and several other nephews, nieces, cousins and aunt, Bobbie Appling of Bolingbroke, Ga.
