PARRISH — Barry Hill recorded his second triple-double of the season, scoring 19 points with 11 rebounds and 11 blocked shots as the fifth-ranked Parrish Tornadoes beat the Oakman Wildcats, 59-42, on Thursday at Parrish.

Parrish also benefitted from big nights from Jermichael Harris — who scored 15 points and had six steals, as well as Reginald Harris’ 11 points and six steals.

Quinton Harris scored 13 points to lead the Wildcats, while Austin Ford had 10 points.

The two teams battled intensely throughout the first period, with Parrish taking a one-basket advantage, 12-10. Oakman won the scoring battle in the second period to tie the game at 18-18 going into halftime.

The Tornadoes regained the lead in the third period following a 20-17 run for the 38-35 edge.

Parrish’s offense and defense took firm command in the fourth period, posting 21 points to Oakman’s seven for the 59-42 final.

Parrish (12-2) hosts Brilliant on Saturday in an area matchup while the Oakman (8-10) hosts Northside today.

The Tornadoes will be the No. 1 seed in the Walker County Basketball Tournament set for later this month at Cordova High School.
