Howard Temple (‘Steven’ as his family called him, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Oct. 22, 2012.

He was born and raised a Christian with his father and grandmother in Monroe, La., until his father married his new and only mother in 1973. He lived in Cordova until he went to live with his second family at The Genesis House in Haleyville, where he was exceptionally well cared for. They all treated him as they would their own family.

He was preceded in death by his father, W.C. Temple: mother, Dorothy Jean Temple and grandmother, Etta Mae Temple.

He left to cherish precious memories of him his sisters, Sheila Jean Peters (Keith) of Tenn., Charlette Jean Phillips (Andy) of Corner and Sandy Jean Nabors (Morris) of Cordova, brother, William “Derrick” Temple of Hanceville; nephews, Micheal “David” Morgan, Robert “Shawn” Harbison, both from Cordova, and William “Evan” Temple of Japan; and a host of great-nieces and nephews; and one great-great nephew, Landon of Cordova; and his family that cared for him at The Genesis House who we are most grateful to for caring and loving him as their own.

Services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at Kilgore-Green, with visitation from 1 until 2 p.m. with funeral to follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Walker Memory Gardens, Inc. in Jasper.

The family would like to give a very heartfelt thank you to his special family at the Genesis House in Haleyville. “We are eternally grateful to all.”
