Ina Mae Sartain Walton, 70, of Jasper, passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, at her home after courageously fighting ovarian cancer for 15 years. She attended Northside Baptist Church, where she taught in the preschool department for many years.

Following a private family burial, her family will receive friends at Northside Baptist Church on Saturday, Sept. 15, at 2 p.m. Celebrating her life, a worship service will follow at 3 p.m.

She was preceeded in death by her husband, Hugh Don Walton of Jasper; parents, Claud Franklin Sartain and Irma Louise Hathcote Sartain of Oakman; brother, Sammy Hathcote Sartain of Birmingham.

She is survived by her family: daughter, Deborah and her husband Fritz Wilson and their sons Benjamin and Elijah of Middleburg, Fla.; son, Blake and his wife Cindy Walton, and their son Brett Lee of Jasper; daughter, Malinda and her husband Tim Elliott and their daughter Ina Catherine (Catie) of Jasper; siblings, William (Bill) Sartain, Betty Sue Thomas, Carolyn and Bill Brown, Ray (Boog) and Charlotte Sartain, and Claud Edwin (Ed) and Beckie Sartain, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Instead of flowers, the family requests that donations should be sent to Northside Baptist Church Preschool Department, or to UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center, Attn: Ovarian Cancer Research, NP 2505, 1720 2nd Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35294-3300.
