He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He spent most of his life in Akron, Ohio. He retired in 1994 as a locomotive engineer with CSX railroad. He moved to Bluffton in 1996.
Mr. Gay is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Tonya House (Robert, Jr) of Akron; daughter, Karen Watson of Bluffton, SC; son, Christopher Fuller (Maysa) of Bluffton, S.C., daughter-in-law, Patti Fuller of Cumming, Ga.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many other family members, loving nieces and nephews from Alabama and Ohio.
Services will be in Akron, Ohio.
