James Noah Pickett Sr., 73, of Sumiton, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2012, at his residence. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at Bell Sumiton Chapel with burial in Dilworth Cemetery.The Rev. Gene Cook will officiate. Visitation will be at 5 p.m. today, July 31, 2012, at the funeral home.

Mr. Pickett was preceded in death by his parents, Blanton and Birdie Pickett; grandson, Jonathan Lee; brothers, R.V. Pickett, Troy Pickett, Thomas Pickett, Wesley Pickett and Eugene Pickett; and sister, Avis Harper.

Survivors include his wife, Jewel Pickett of Sumiton; children, James Pickett Jr. of Cullman, Joyce Lee and her husband, Jimmy, of Cullman, Kenneth Pickett of Parrish, and Elizabeth Hunter and her husband, Wayne, of Jasper; brother, Roy Pickett of Ohio; sisters, Myrtle Hall of Boldo and Louise Bridgeman of Haleyville; grandchildren, Brianna Pickett, Heather McPherson, Stacy Hunter, Deann Hunter, Little Wayne Hunter, C.J. Lee, Jeremy Lee, Kaleb Langley and Ruby Earley; great-grandchildren, Emily Lee, Jasmine Bullock, Abigail Bullock, Morgan Bullock and Jonathan Bullock; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Burkett, William Burkett, Little Wayne Hunter, Doug Ratliff, Jimmy Lee, Ricky Pickett, Kenneth Pickett, Eric McPherson and Darryl Freeman.
