Posey’s great-grandparents opened Andrew Posey and Son Hardware in 1924, and her cousin Randy Posey continues to run the business today.
The book signing will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the hardware store, located on 20th Street West in Jasper.
Posey is a retired attorney, teacher and medical technologist. She currently resides near Dallas, Texas.
“Look Away, Dixieland” is set in Alabama and includes several references to Jasper. Its sequel, which Posey has already begun writing, will also contain many scenes in the area.
“I love Alabama and wanted to write a novel about the way people lived during the time the novel is set. With firsthand knowledge, it is easy to let your mind slip back to tell about the way life was,” Posey said.
“Look Away, Dixieland” is a romantic suspense novel centered around the lives of a mother and her two daugthers after the mysterious death of her husband. The events in the novel take place between 1941 and 1966.
One review describes it as a “rags to riches story that has a twist you will never forget.”
Posey views it as a tale of Southern women overcoming adversity.
“This novel encompasses struggles of women to find a new life after their old one is shattered by the dark secret. They make things happen and take advantage of the circumstances that surround them,” Posey said.
“Look Away, Dixieland” is available in paperback and in a Kindle edition.
