The Rev. Johnny Dickerson, 52, of Jasper, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at his home. He was the pastor of Samaria Baptist Church. He was a friend to his community.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Samaria Baptist Church with a celebration service following at 1 p.m. J.D. Dickerson, Andrew Dickerson and J.L. Bailey will officiate.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Dickerson; grandparents, Lish and Lillie Dickerson, Jim and Fannie Reese; and father-in-law, Bud Skinner.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Skinner Dickerson of Jasper; daughters, Sarah (Brad) Akins, Emily (Patrick) Gregory and Johanna Dickerson; and grandchildren, Lillie Akins, Ella Akins and Macie Gregory; mother, Ruth Dickerson; and sisters, Regina Trussell and Angie Hartley.

Pallbearers will be Craig Hughes, Clint Lauderdale, Marty Rice, Ross Smith, Darren Rakestraw and Darryl Whitehead.
