Joy Jeanene (Prestridge) Moore, 81, of Tacoma, Wash., passed away Feb. 24, 2014. Jeanene was born in Walker County on July 26, 1932.

Jeanene spent her early years in Alabama and graduated from Winston High School in 1950. Jeanene married her husband, John, on Jan. 11, 1957, in the Mormon Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah. Jeanene’s years of charitable service on behalf of St. Leo’s Food Bank will be greatly missed.  

Moore was preceded in death by her father, Jessie Prestridge; her mother, Rosa Clara (Wint) Prestridge; and brother, James Prestridge.

She is survived by her husband, John Moore; sister, Betty Jo Holly; brother, Jerry Prestridge; son, Richard Moore and his wife, Lynae; and daughter, Martha (Moore) Miller and her husband, Michael. In addition, Jeanene had six grandchildren.  

A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 6, 2014, at 10 a.m., at the LDS Tacoma Washington Stake Center on South Pearl Street, with graveside following at New Tacoma Cemetery.  

The family requests contributions may be made in Jeanene’s memory to the Saint Leo’s Food Bank.
