The Town of Kansas will host the 15th annual Kansas Day on May 4 and May 5, with all the proceeds going to benefit Kansas Park

The celebration will be held at the park on Old Highway 78 starting at 6 p.m. on Friday and on Saturday starting at 9 a.m.

Organizers of the event say there are tons of activities for young and old alike including live music, crafts and games. Local vendors will also be present, and booths are available for $15.

Kansas Day volunteers will also sell barbecue plates for $7, and other vendors will sell smoked sausage, hamburgers and hotdogs.

Kansas Day activities will include stage coach rides, a cakewalk, an auction and a boys and girls photo pageant. The photo pageant is open to children up to age 5.

Organizers of Kansas day will also sell chances to win a quilt commemorating the University of Alabama Crimson Tide’s national championship.

Organizers will also hold a cow patty drop and will sell squares for $10. The prize for the wining square will be $500.
