She is survived by her four married children and their spouses, Fred and Gloria Frawley of Brentwood, Tenn., Jim and Charlotte Frawley of Florence, Anita and Jim Burton of Nauvoo, and Paula and Mike Kelly of Tuscumbia. Lois is also survived by seven grandchildren, Paige Barnes of Nashville, Tenn., Frederick “Rick” Frawley of Nolensville, Tenn., Chris Smith of Loganville, Ga., Noel Smith of Tuscumbia, Amber Burton of Birmingham, Courtney Mumbower of Destrehan, La., and Leslie Norris of Andalusia. In addition, Lois is survived by eight great-grand children, six nieces, and one nephew.
Lois was a graduate of Parrish High School and the University of Alabama. Her life’s work included serving as a minister’s wife, mother, educator, and social worker. Although her retirement years have been challenged by serious illnesses, Lois persevered with the support of her family and her faith. During those years she found great joy in visits from family and friends, support of her church, watching birds and squirrels visiting her feeders, and following Alabama football.
A service will be held at Greenview Memorial Chapel at Florence at 3 p.m. on Thursday for family and friends. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m., followed by the service officiated by Brother Kenny Barfield, minister with Sherrod Avenue Church of Christ.
