Louis L. “Chief” Serradell, 78, of Carbon Hill, passed away peacefully with his family surrounding him, on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011. Serradell was an elder at Carbon Hill Presbyterian Church. The family requests memorials be made to the Carbon Hill Presbyterian Church Building Fund. He was a veteran of the Korean War.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, at Kilgore-Green Chapel. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. Dr. Kenneth Bentley will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Serradell; parents, Albert and Lupe Serradell; sister, Helen McCullough; and brother, Joe Serradell.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Serradell of Carbon Hill; children, Gary Meek (Shawna) of Medford, Ore., Mike Meek (Rosie) of Medford, Ore., Terry Meek (Paulette) of Broken Bow, Okla., Kathy Serradell of Connersville, Ind., Albert Serradell of Oklahoma City, Ronald Serradell of Santa Rosa, Calif., Stephanie Pope (Bill) of Hamilton, Amanda Keeton (Danny) of Nauvoo, Gina Ritter (Jeff) of Nauvoo, Sam Jent (Summer) of Cordova and Lee Ann Jent of Jasper; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
