Luther J. “L.J.” Amerson, 61, of Dora, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Baptist Medical Center-Princeton. He was a graduate of Walker High School, Class of 1969. He attended Walker College and was of the Baptist faith.

Graveside service and interment will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2012, at New Horizon Memorial Gardens in Dora. The Rev. Lee Taylor will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Buster and Lavina Amerson; and his father and mother-in-law, Pete and Helen Combs.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sandy Combs Amerson of Dora; sons, Joey, Phillip and Mark Amerson; grandson, Seth Watkins; sisters, Jeanette (Jimmie) Turner of Saragossa and Sandra (Ben) Eppes of Lumberton, Texas; and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
