Margree “Sis” Ballenger, 87, of Sumiton, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013, at her residence. She was a member of East Walker Church of Christ and was owner of the former Ballenger Grocery in Hull.

Funeral services will be today, June 11, 2013, at noon in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Barry Bennett and the Rev. Preston Headrick will officiate. Entombment will follow in the New Horizon Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation is today from 11 a.m. until noon at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marlen Ballenger, and son-in-law, William Siewert.

Survivors include her daughters, Elaine Siewert of Lithia Springs, Ga., Ilene Black and her husband, Sam, of Sumiton, and Joyce Washington and her husband, Thomas A. Jr., of Dora; grandchildren, Randall Trimm, Tammie Hunter (Tim), Shane Siewert (Dana), Kyle Siewert (Tricia), Brian Washington (Stephanie) and Craig Washington (Heather); nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one brother, Jimmy Lee Morgan and wife, Shirley, of Hamilton.
