Mark Anthony Phillips, 63, of Sipsey, died on Friday, Jan.11, 2013, at the VA Medical Center in Birmingham. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Bell Sumiton Chapel with burial in Union Chapel Cemetery. Pastor Dale Horton will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on, today, Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at the funeral home.

Preceding him in death were a grandson, Samuel Austin Gardner; parents, John Bradford Phillips and Gertrude White Phillips; brothers, John Phillips and Stanley Phillips; sister, Lillian Heard; and nephew, Eric Wallace.

Survivors include his sister, Mary Wallace and her husband, Harold of Sipsey; brother, Bob Phillips and his wife, Lee of Sipsey; wife, Sarah Phillips of Argo; children, Bridget James and her husband, Al, Brandy Gardner and her husband, Chris, and Ben Sanford and his wife, Miranda, all of Argo; grandchildren, Hope James, Alison James, Zach James, Dylan Gardner, Paislee Gardner, Jaysen Uptain, and Lucas Sanford, all of Argo; mother-in-law, Josephine Kimbrough of Argo; and a host of other relatives and friends.
