Myrl Wade Walker, 90, of Arley, was called to heaven for her wings on July 16, 2013.

She was a beloved, devoted wife, loving mother, caring sister, aunt and grandmother. She was born on Feb. 11, 1923, in Arley. She was married to her sweetheart, Demp Walker, on Jan. 12, 1946, and shared 67 happy, loving years. Myrl was a lifelong member of Meek Baptist Church and loved all of her church family. She will be remembered for her sweet smile; genuine, kind, loving heart and her faith in God. She was a true angel from God who touched everyone she met.

Walker is survived by her husband, Demp Walker; son, Edward Walker (Lynn); daughters, Lynda Edwards (Gary), Anita Walker; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren; one great-great-stepgrandchild; sisters, Lucille Speer, Icy Mae Raburn, Florene (Kenneth) Stephenson; a host of nieces and nephews; and honorary daughter, Jackie Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Zenith and Maggie Smith Wade; brother, Austin Wade; sisters, Alice Talley, Lorene Alston and Imogene Wade.

Visitation will be held today, July 18, 2013, from 4:30 until 6 p.m. at Meek Baptist Church in Arley where services will be held at 6 p.m. Bro. Ron Wooten and Bro. Etsel Riddle will officiate. Burial will be in Meek Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Harold Wade, Bill Wade, Coy Smith, Eddie Walker, Jason Walker and Jamie Edwards.
