The Wildcats scored the only points in the first-half with Jase Trotter hitting Quinton Harris for a 77-yard touchdown pass on the first play from scrimmage. The missed extra-point made the score 6-0.
The Eagles were looking to score on the next drive, but Cold Springs fumbled inside the Wildcat 1-yard line with Caleb Woods pouncing on the loose ball.
Cold Springs got the ball to start the second-half, but on the third play of the drive, Harris intercepted Austin Moore’s pass at the 48-yard line.
The Wildcats would seemingly go three-and-out, but while lined up in the punt formation, Trotter took the direct snap and threw a 50-yard touchdown pass to John Coger. Harris ran in the 2-point conversion making the score 14-0.
While trying to receive the ensuing kickoff, Cold Springs’ Devin Pace and Caleb Ellison collided and Oakman recovered the live ball on the Eagle 36-yard line.
Five plays later, Chris Austin ran into the end zone from 20 yards out.
Trotter connected with Hall Hastings for the two-point conversion to make the score 22-0.
With only 1:05 left in the game, Trotter hit Harris again, this time from 6 yards out for the final touchdown of the game. The extra-point was no good, making the final score 28-0.
Oakman’s Austin rushed for 164 yards and a touchdown while Trotter went 6-for-21 for 182 yards and three touchdowns.
Purvis Coger added 65 yards and a touchdown on two catches and also added three tackles and caused fumble. Don Tyler Jackson added 10 tackles and Mark Austin, Reilly Williams and Hunter Williams each had five tackles.
Cold Springs collectively gained 76 yards on the ground. Logan Campbell and Austin Moore went a combined 2-for-6 passing for 18 yards.
The Eagles turned the ball over on downs three times plus a lost fumble and an interception.
Oakman (8-1, 7-0), which wrapped up its first region title since 2003 with a win at Aliceville, travels to Berry for the regular season finale next week.
The Wildcats will host a first-round playoff game in two weeks.
