Patricia Ann McElmeel-Grzegorzewski of Arley, best known in the community as Patty Gregory, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 50 on the evening of June 30, 2014.

She was born to Stephen McElmeel Jr. and Betty Garrison-McElmeel in Elmhurst, Illinois, on June 9, 1964. Patty married Richard D. Grzegorzewski on Oct. 17, 1987, and they had a total of 28 meaningful years together.

Patty moved with her family to Arley in 1994. She split her time as the co-owner of Pine Valley Landscaping, a stay-at-home mom and a substitute teacher in both Winston and Walker counties.

She was a loyal, honest, hard-working woman who left behind many friends. Some of Patty’s dearest friends were those fortunate enough to also call her family.

She is survived by her husband, Richard D. Grzegorzewski; daughter, Nicole L. Grzegorzewski; son, Dustin R. Grzegorzewski; daughter, Samantha J. Grzegorzewski; sister, Mary McElmeel-Camp; nieces and nephews, Erin Greenan-McCoy, Eric McElmeel, Shaina Grzegorzewski-Nejman, Kristina McElmeel-Bartell, Alyssa Grzegorzewski, Jessica Grzegorzewski, Robin Camp, Delanie Grzegorzewski and Thomas McElmeel.

She was preceded in death by her father, Stephen McElmeel Jr.; mother, Betty Garrison-McElmeel; brother, David McElmeel; and nephew, Anthony McElmeel.

A viewing will be held Saturday, July 5, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. with services at 12:30 p.m. at Collins Burke Funeral Home.

The services will be followed by burial at Oak Hill Cemetery.

She will be missed by all and will continue to live through the lives of those she had known.
