This year’s event is set for next Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Community Health Systems Activities Center in downtown Jasper.
The event is being held in conjunction with the city’s Veterans Day Parade, which is set to begin at 9 a.m.
Admission to the bazaar is free.
The Holiday Bazaar and Silent Auction, which has been held for the past 12 years, is one of the club’s largest fundraising events each year, according to Pilot Club president Jackie Geddings Gilbreath.
“This is one of our biggest fundraisers, if not the biggest, and it helps fund our projects throughout the year,” Gilbreath said. The Pilot Club works each year to assist with Daybreak, the Beacon House, the Alabama Head Injury Foundation, the Salvation Army. The club also sponsors Anchor Clubs at area high schools.
More than 30 vendors are already scheduled to participate in this year’s bazaar, said club member Gina Nichols.
A silent auction is planned, with more than 250 items set to be auctioned off. Items in the silent auction will be on display and include framed artwork of both Alabama and Auburn football, as well as holidays items, jewelry, home decor and other items perfect for Christmas gifts.
To participate in the silent auction, you must purchase a bid number for just $1.
“There will be plenty of things for guys, too,” Nichols said.
“We have plenty of things that people will go crazy over,” said Pilot Club member Beckie Martin.
Santa Claus will also be on hand to meet and have photos taken with the kids, Nichols said. Kids can also have their faces painted by artist Shirley Jimenez, and there’s lots of other activities for kids.
There’s also going to be plenty of entertainment, including dancers and singers from Athletics Arts, Jasper Elite and the Sassy Stompers.
“It’s just a lot of fun,” Nichols said. “It helps everyone who attends kind of get in the holiday spirit.”
