Dora police, with help from the Alabama Attorney General’s Office, executed a search warrant on the T.J.’s gas station on Sharon Boulevard in Burnwell on Wednesday.

The raid resulted in the seizure of two gambling machines, records of gambling and payouts from gambling, as well as the arrest of the owner of the business, Salahdeen Ahmed Tylinski, 24, of Fultondale.

Tylinski is charged with promoting gambling and possession of gambling devices. Both charges are Class A misdemeanors and carry a jail sentence of up to one year confinement and fines up to $6,000 each, if convicted.

The arrest and seizure come after a month of undercover work at the location, according to Dora Police Chief John Duchock. The department was able to enter the facility and videotape the gambling transactions to use as evidence.

The business was closed temporarily during the execution of the search warrant, but was reopened by Wednesday afternoon.
