The Rev. Manley Bryant Carrell Sr., 90, of Townley, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011, at The Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in Birmingham. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at Townley First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at New Prospect Cemetery in Jasper. Lucky Teague will officiate. Visitation will be at 6 p.m. today, Jan. 29, 2011, at Collins-Burke Funeral Home Parlor and on Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Townley First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Will Carrell; mother, Mary Carrell; and wife, Verna Ruth Carrell.

He is survived by his daughters, Linda McCoy, Sylvia Hayes and Teresa Dozier; sons, Manley Carrell Jr., David Carrell and John Carrell; sister, Betty Edgil; brother, Marion Carrell; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
