Richard Colburn, 60, of Eldridge, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Northwest Medical Center in Winfield.

Visitation will be today, March 28, 2014, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Miles Funeral Home in Winfield and Saturday, March 29, 2014, from 10 until 11 a.m. at Eldridge Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 29, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Eldridge Methodist Church. John Mooney will officiate. Burial will follow in Kelley Cemetery.

Richard was born Sept. 16, 1953, in Walker County, a son of Lewis “Red’ Colburn and Willa Dean Wilburn Colburn. A resident of Eldridge most of his life, he was an avid music lover, an Auburn football fan and a NASCAR fan. His favorite past time was sitting on the porch playing music.

He was previously employed in the logging industry and area trailer plants. He loved working on small engines and was a member of Eldridge Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Carrie Sprinkle Colburn of Eldridge; his adopted daughter, Christy Colburn of Eldridge; nieces and nephews, which were “his kids”; two brothers, Johnny Colburn and his wife, June, of Eldridge and Kenny Colburn and his wife, Vickie, of Jasper; two sisters-in-law, Linda Colburn of Eldridge and Precilla Colburn of South Carolina; special friends, Ted Williams of Carbon Hill, Rich Piotrowski and Jerry Jordan, both of Eldridge; and other relatives.
