Ruby "Lucille" Puckett, 96, of Cordova, was called to her heavenly home by her Lord and Savior on Nov. 6, 2012, at her residence. She is now reunited at the pearly gates of heaven with loved ones. The joy of her life was family and gatherings. Up until her last day she could always manage a smile. She was the solid rock of her family.

The family will receive friends today, Nov. 8, 2012, at 6 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel, with burial at Union Chapel Cemetery. Pastor Thomas Reeves will officiate.

Mrs. Puckett was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin "Dude" Puckett; parents, Samuel and Esther Walker; sons, Wayland Puckett and James Maxwell Puckett; daughters, Rebecca Ann Puckett Lanthrip and infant twin, Sarah Elizabeth Puckett; and grandson, Todd Maxwell Puckett.

She is survived by her daughter, Marcelia Herron (John Ed); son, Tim Puckett (Peggie); son-in-law, Clarence Lanthrip Jr.; daughter-in-law, Lanell Puckett; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Denver.
