Sharon Rosalie Bennett Blackstock, 54, of Dora, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2013, at Bell Sumiton Chapel with burial in Davis Cemetery. The Rev. James Aycox will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, July 18, 2013, at the funeral home. Bell Funeral Home Sumiton has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Blackstock was born in Dora to Julius and Janice Hicks Bennett. She attended Katherwood Christian School in McDonald’s Chapel and Herzig Institute in Birmingham. She was employed by First National Bank in Birmingham and later worked at Walmart in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa. She was member of Fleetwood Covenant in Brookwood and after moving back to Dora attended Faith Worship Center in Sumiton.

Preceding her in death were her father, Julius L. Bennett; and grandparents, Earl Hicks and Rosie Green, and Lynn and Leola Banks Bennett.

Survivors include her husband, Mike Blackstock of Dora; children, Jacob Blackstock and Amber Blackstock, both of Dora; mother, Janice Bennett of Dora; sister, Debbie Aaron and her husband, Barry, of Hayden; nephews, Jesse and Ben Aaron of Hayden; and a host of other relatives and friends.
